In accordance with current NASSCED Administrative Policies, Awards & Recognition may be presented to active members who attain milestone years of service, are retiring or resigning from their position as a State Executive Director, or who have rendered valuable services to this Association.

LONGEVITY

For individuals who are active members of NASSCED, the Association will recognize longevity for service to their state association beginning with completion of the fifth year of service and then continuing in five-year increments.

This recognition will occur during the membership luncheon at the NASSCED Annual Meeting.  The form of recognition will be as follows:

  • Members who have completed 5, 10, 15, or 20 years of service shall receive a tangible recognition, the expense of which is not to exceed $50.00.
  • Members who have completed 25 or more years of service shall receive a tangible recognition, the expense of which is not to exceed $100.00.

The Board of Directors shall review the longevity of members annually and adjust the above benchmarks as needed should the overall longevity of the membership decline.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION

A member of the Board of Directors or a State Executive Director may recommend individuals for special recognition. Letters of interest should be drafted to the President of NASSCED.  Upon receipt of such letters, the President will share the name and background of the individual with the Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors will decide whether to recognize this individual at the NASSCED Annual Meeting, using the following criteria for their recommendation:

  • The nominated individual served for one or more years as a State Executive Director and is now retiring or resigning.  A certificate will be given for service of one to nine years; a service award or donation, not to exceed $100.00 in value, will be given for ten or more years of service.
  • The nominated individual served as President of NASSCED and has now completed his or her term in that office.  A service award or donation, not to exceed $100.00 in value, will be given.
  • The nominated individual has rendered outstanding service and/or commitment to the betterment of NASSCED by serving on committees, presenting workshops at NASSCED meetings or by providing time and energy to the smooth operations of this association.  A service award or donation, not to exceed $100.00 in value, will be given.

The Board of Directors shall review the above criteria on a regular basis and adjust as needed to ensure this policy remains current and relevant.
